Maryln Appelbaum is well-known internationally as an outstanding authority on children, education, and families. She has worked as a teacher, an administrator, and a therapist and has been a consultant throughout the United States. She has written more than 30 how-to books geared exclusively for educators and parents. She has been interviewed on television and radio talks shows and has been quoted in newspapers including USA Today. She owns a seminar training company, Appelbaum Training Institute, with her son, Marty Appelbaum, and they and their speakers train educators all over the world. She has master’s degrees in both psychology and education and completed her doctoral studies in both education and psychology.
Appelbaum's influence impacts the entire globe with her thoughts for the day that go out to thousands of educators via e-mail daily. Practical & Helpful

This is a great quick reference book with many practical and easy to implement strategies. There are enough varied strategies to give you options for a child who is having a difficult time in the classroom. You will be surprised at how many of these simple tips really work. I have been to several workshop given by the Appelbaum company (Marilyn Appelbaum's company)and have always come away with strategies that I can use right away. This book is like a reference book for the workshops!

a treasure trove of ideas!

I found this book to be an amazing source of ideas for all kinds of kids. I would suggest readers don't focus on the chapter titles (according to disabilities), but consider all ideas for all students. I train teachers about students with skills deficits in behavior and emotional regulation, and I am happy to recommend it to all.

Very basic. Good for a quick reference but,not much meat. Pretty much the strategies I already knew. I was hoping for more on ODD.
